Freedom From Fear
Fear can take many forms.
You
could be worried about your health or a physical condition in your loved
one. Perhaps you’re in turmoil because of a difficult relationship.
Or
maybe you’re concerned about your career and anxious about not having
enough finances for yourself or your family. You could be deeply
affected by world events and troubled by what the future might bring.
You could even be afraid of death.
Beloved, no matter what has caused you to be fearful today, as a believer, here is what I want you to see…
Jesus has set you free from all fear!
And Hebrews 2:14-15 tells us how our Lord has accomplished this freedom for us at the cross:
…that
through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is,
the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their
lifetime subject to bondage.
This verse also points out the root of why people are in bondage—because of the fear of death. Not just physical death, but also death in the different areas of life, be it in their health, relationships, or finances.
This
death began in the garden of Eden as a consequence of Adam sinning
against God by partaking of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good
and evil. So sin is the reason that there is death in this world, and
the devil has been using the fear of death to put people in bondage ever
since.
But
here’s the good news. You don’t have to live fearful of death any
longer because of Jesus’ finished work. You don’t have to let fear,
anxiety, or worry rob you of your ability to enjoy life.
But Pastor Prince, what if I still face anxious thoughts? What if I still have nagging fears tomorrow?
Beloved, when those fearful and anxious thoughts come, choose to bring your thoughts back to what Christ has done for you at the cross.
Meditate on how the finished work of Jesus means the devil no longer
has any right to bring death or destruction into any area of your life.
Let me share with you one more truth on why you can walk in freedom from fear. 1 John 4:18 says:
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear…
It
was God’s perfect, unconditional love for you that caused Him to send
Jesus to conquer death for you. And it was Jesus’ perfect love for you
that caused Him to give His life for you, and destroy forever the evil
one’s power to bring death into your life.
Today, it is the Lord’s perfect love that will cast out every tormenting fear from your life!
If you’re worried about your health, remember that it is by Jesus’ stripes that you are healed (1 Peter 2:24).
If
you’re fearful about provision for tomorrow, meditate on your heavenly
Father’s supply for all your needs according to His riches in glory
(Philippians 4:19).
If
you’re overwhelmed by what’s happening in your life or around you,
choose to believe that the Lord is working all things around for your
good (Romans 8:28).
Because of God’s great love for you, and through Christ’s sacrifice, you have been separated…
From death unto life
From sin unto righteousness
From sickness unto health
From poverty unto provision
When
you get the truth of your heavenly Father’s great love and Jesus’
perfect, finished work for you deep into your heart and mind, that’s
when you will break free from
the ultimate fear, the fear of death, and begin to reign in life over
sickness and disease, lack, and broken relationships.
Beloved,
I hope you know how loved you are—by us and by your heavenly Father.
